President Mirziyoyev visits customs checkpoint on border with Afghanistan after modernization

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Airit customs post in Termez district as part of visit to Surkhandarya region, the president's press service reported.
The customs post lies on the border crossing checkpoint with Afghanistan.
The customs post was modernized amid intensified commercial and economic ties with Afghanistan and South Asian states.
The customs post has the state-of-the-art equipment as part of the Digital Uzbekistan 2020 Program.
The post has Z Portal scanning system for vehicles. A high-throughput, drive-through inspection system for large trucks, buses and cargo containers utilizes multiple X-ray technologies to provide up to six images of the truck or cargo. The post can handle up to 2,000 passengers a day.
The Airit post can handle trains, vehicles and people at the same time.
Adani and Rapiscan digital solutions, CCTV cameras are installed for safety considerations.
