AKIPRESS.COM - Many violations were admitted during interrogation of Omurbek Babanov as a witness in the process of detention, said ex-PM Omurbek Babanov's lawyer Amantur Abdyrakhmanov.
"We filed a challenge, but the judge refused," he recalled.
The lawyer also said that Babanov refused plea-bargaining with investigation.
"Plea-bargaining is reached when the detainee is guilty, but here he's not guilty. He is accused of making a decision in 2012 in favor of Centerra Gold," the lawyer said.
Babanov was detained on May 31 on suspicion of corruption as part of the criminal probe into various stages of the Kumtor development.
On June 2, Pervomai district court of Bishkek ruled to arrest ex-PM Omurbek Babanov for 2 months until July 31.
