Marshrutka drivers explain why they strike in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - Drivers of marshrutkas gathered in Bishkek on June 3 and addressed the citizens. They said they are striking to raise the fare from 10 to 15 soms with annual 1 som increase.
They say the fares have remained unchanged for 12 years, while fuel prices and car parts are getting more expensive. Many drivers borrowed credits to buy car parts. All of them must provide their families.
The drivers reminded that they also pay taxes to the city.
The van drivers' strike entered second day today on June 3 causing a transport chaos in Bishkek.
