AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek mayor's office lifted previously imposed ban on cafes and restaurants to work after 11pm until 7 am due to the surge in coronavirus cases.
On June 21, Baktybek Kudaibergenov, acting mayor of Bishkek, initiated a meeting with representatives of the restaurant business. Business representatives asked to review the restrictions committing themselves to strict compliance with the established sanitary and epidemiological rules.
An extraordinary meeting of the city emergency anti-epidemic and anti-epizootic commission took place after the meeting. A majority of the commission members voted in favor of lifting the restrictions.
"Managers of cafes, restaurants, bars and other organizations are personally responsible for compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms and established algorithms," said the mayor's office.
A group of independent experts has warned a spike in coronavirus cases in the next 2 weeks. Three scenarios of development of situation were prepared, best-case, medium and worst-case scenarios. However, all three scenarios project daily coronavirus cases to vary between 1,380 and 1,571 cases by start of July. Experts said this is just modeling, but if no efforts are made like last year, the country will face another 'dark July 2020' when the big number of coronavirus cases and deaths were recorded in Kyrgyzstan daily.
