Kyrgyzstan needs to vaccinate from 2.6m to 3.2m against coronavirus infection

AKIPRESS.COM - Acceleration of vaccination of population against coronavirus infection is a critical issue for Kyrgyzstan. The number of citizens needing vaccination makes almost 3.2 million people, Cabinet Vice Chair Jyldyz Bakashova said at the meeting with UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo.
"The priority group includes 2.6 million people. Hence, we need 6.4 million doses of vaccines or at least 5.2 million doses. Effective of coordination of efforts with development partners in vaccination and support of national healthcare system is of a crucial importance for Kyrgyzstan," she said.
UN is ready to provide support to Kyrgyzstan, the UN Resident Coordinator said.
The agreement was reached UN agencies will provide assistance in implementation of projects in response to COVID-19 pandemic.
102,300 (1.5%) were vaccinated against coronavirus infection as of June 25.
