Bishkek, Aug.27, 2019. /Kabar/. The second round of the Kyrgyz-Georgian political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers took place in Tbilisi yesterday, Aug. 26, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Azizbek Madmaron, and the Georgian-by his counterpart Lasha Darsaliya.
During the consultations, priority attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements, reached after the visit of Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev to Georgia on July 17-19, 2018.
The sides also discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In this context, they noted the importance of holding in 2020 the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation.
In addition, the state of legal framework of the Kyrgyz-Georgian bilateral relations was discussed and importance of its updating and expansion was noted.
Special attention was also paid to the issues of interaction in the consular sphere, including the processing of electronic visas.
As a result of the consultations, the two sides reaffirmed their mutual desire to continue the course of deepening bilateral ties in all areas of mutual interest.
On the same day, the Kyrgyz delegation met with Chairman of the Georgia-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Group David Matikashvili, during which the sides discussed in detail the issues of further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
