AKIPRESS.COM - The mayor's office of Bishkek said that it will not finance the city home for elderly people founded by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, member of the city council Almazbek Ulanov said on December 3 at the session of the commission on social issues. There are 20 people in the senior home today, according to him.
The mayor's office annually provides 27 million som for this institute, Ulanov noted.
"The Ministry of Labor is a founder, and we pay money to them. Why? Then change the status, make it not municipal but national. You are writing that it is a Bishkek home for elderly people," he said.
Chairman of the commission proposed to appeal to the lawyers to resolve this issue.
To date, the mayor's office sent a letter to the Ministry of Labor to determine and hand over this institute to the balance of the mayor's office, Ulanov said.
