Speaker Dzhumabekov takes part in Save Snow Leopard int’l race

Bishkek, Sept.16, 2019. /Kabar/. Parliament Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov took part in the first Save the Snow Leopard international charity race, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.
The Save the Snow Leopard international race is the cherity half-marathon. The route of the race ran through the central streets of the capital.
The race included four distances: 1 km, 5 km, 14 km and 21.1 km.
The 1-kilometre distance was otherwise called the solidarity distance, participants of which fled as a sign of solidarity and support for the global idea of the half-marathon to preserve the snow leopards. The rest of the courses were attended by more prepared participants.
Speaker Dzhumabekov together with a number of Parliament members took part in the distance calculated on 5 kilometers.
"The World Forum on Snow Leopard Conservation was held in Bishkek in 2013. At present, the issue of conservation of snow leopard and its habitats has attracted the attention of the world community. We can protect snow leopards, fight poaching and illegal trade in rare wildlife species. Today the Save the Snow Leopard charity race with the largest prize fund in Central Asia is taking place in Bishkek. We are pleased that many Kyrgyz people have decided to contribute to the conservation of the snow leopard. I would like to express my gratitude to organizers of this marathon, the Nomad-Sport Development Fund and the secretariat of the Global Snow Leopard Conservation Program. I would also like to thank all the participants of the race for taking part in this half-marathon," Dzhumabekov said.
